Looking back at my working biography I have had the opportunity to direct the Hearing Center at The Institute of Logopedics/Heartspring, create a Donor Hearing Aid Program, develop an Assistive Listening Device Center, provide Community Hearing Screenings to all ages, supervise graduate and undergraduate Audiology students from Wichita State University, mentor clinical fellowship students for The American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, travel to The Mary Chapman School for The Deaf in Burma for staff training, education and services to children, counsel families of children with Auditory Processing Disorders and then the main course with thousands of hours of clinical Testing and Rehabilitation with adults and children. In my new practice as in my past lives every person is unique and every sound is special.  My goal is to give each person the attention they want, the answers they need and a solution for enhanced communication.

About Us

The Center for Better Hearing opened its doors on July 4, 2011. The opportunity for the creation of this new practice came with the transition of the audiology practice from Heartspring Hearing Center, to Linda and Carol. Both had worked at Heartspring for over 28 years, building a trusted relationship with the Wichita and South Central Kansas communities. We welcome and encourage family members to join us for any visit. The greater the participation of family and friends the more successful the outcomes. Education and information are the most important part of our hearing health process. “Listening for Life…A Practice for All Ages reflects the importance of the auditory system from infancy through adulthood. A good auditory system is a prerequisite for a lifetime for learning and success. We offer select care in testing persons with special needs, i.e. Autism or Alzheimers, of all ages.

    The Making of an Audiologist

...started when I joined the Institute of Logopedics Hearing Center. Although my graduate degree was complete, my education was just beginning; in Audiology and in Life. The people who have taken the step to seek help with their hearing have played a major role in my education. They have taught me patience, caring, understanding, persistence, firmness, gratitude, and thankfulness. They have fed my passion to help people pushing me to grow to my potential and have watched my life bloom. The time I have spent with people will always be remembered in my heart. As my family grew, so did the Hearing Center as it moved to the new Heartspring campus and now The Center for Better Hearing. My long relationship with the people I serve, feeds my soul and nourishes my life. Being an Audiologist has not only proven to be a wonderful career but has enabled me to guide people to their potential to hear the sensational sounds of life. The Center for Better Hearing continues my journey as I guide people towards Listening for Life
